EPAL

This is the second time and our last visit of the year to my friend/ kuya/ partner in service (CLP)/ inaanak (kumpil)/ Kuya Ned at Sacred Heart Novitiate, Novaliches Metro Manila. Akalain mo at ninang ako ng Kuya ko na to! He is well know in our chapter na "very particular with time". So whenever we are serving the SFC and KFC pag late na kami, makikita mo siya nakatayo sa site/ venue na nakatingin sa relo tapos titingnan ka at titingin ule sa relo, lol. As I've said earlier this is our last visit for him this year, the next will be January 2013, and he is also the sharer of the month.

The first time we visit. I joined this pic at Nescafe Serendipic Contest and I won from one of the bloggers contest, unfortunately until now still haven't get my prize, anyways here's my prize, picture na lang ha (taken from the blog), masaya na ako!!!

THE GOSPEL: Mark 10:35-45

The Request of James and John

35 Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him. “Teacher,” they said, “we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”
36 “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.
37 They replied, “Let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory.”
38 “You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said. “Can you drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?”
39 “We can,” they answered.
Jesus said to them, “You will drink the cup I drink and be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with, 40 but to sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places belong to those for whom they have been prepared.”
41 When the ten heard about this, they became indignant with James and John. 42 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 43 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Kuya Ned's Sharing:

Everytime daw na nababasa niya ang gospel na to, he always reminded of the word epal, as in capital E.P.A.L in other words ma-Papel, pa-Bibo and always wants to be the center of attraction. As like what James and John's request to Jesus: "Let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory." He also pointed out that nowadays there are people do have the KIA traits, which means Know It All. And as of this moment it is popularly said as IKR, I Know Right?!!! He also relate himself with James and John. He also told a version the famous Filipino story of  "Wala ka sa Lolo ko" and "Wala ka sa Lola ko". At the end of the sharing he stretched out that we must be EPAL in our own little way and good way. He said that we must be E. P. A. L.: Everytime Praise GOD, All the time Love GOD :)

HOUSEHOLD: AXE

THE STORY OF A WOODCUTTER
(credit to the author)

Once upon a time, a very strong woodcutter asked for a job in a timber merchant and he got it. The pay was really good and so was the work condition. For those reasons, the woodcutter was determined to do his best. His boss gave him an axe and showed him the area where he supposed to work.

The first day, the woodcutter brought 18 trees."Congratulations," the boss said. "Go on that way!"

Very motivated by the boss words, the wood cutter tried harder the next day, but he could only bring 15 trees. The third day he tried even harder, but he could only bring 10 trees. Day after day he was bringing less and less tress.

"I must be losing my strength", the woodcutter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, saying that he could not understand what was going on. "When was the last time you sharpened your axe?" the boss asked. "Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my axe. I have been very busy trying to cut trees..."
--- end---

REFLECTION

When was the last time I sharpen my axe? When was the last time I stay in the house for a day? When was the last time I spend time with my Family? When was the last time I pamper myself? This are the questions came out on my mind as I read the story the wood cutter. I just realized that I'm too busy working and serving. I know I'm fulfilled and happy of what I'm doing, but I neglect the true important things, like our family, personal life, taking time to read inspirational books, and most of all our personal relationship with God. Sometimes we need to relax, meditate, think, and learn. We need to balance our life, we must learn how to prioritize things. God created 24 hours a day and seven days a week for us to use it wisely. If we don't take time to sharpen our axe, it will became dull, same as ourselves we will lose our effectiveness.

My dearest household friends, thank you for your stories and smile!!!

..... So always take time to sharpen your axe!!!

SFC BIG WEST CONFERENCE 2012

This is the first time SFC Big West hosted a Conference and it was a blast, parang Metro Manila Conference lang! Approximately 1,100 plus participants from 3 sectors  attended the said conference, held at Miriam College.

Conference Pin

We had 44 participants from our Chapter - SFC WB2-D :)

photos from Carl Castillo's FB
Conference Topic:

What should be the posture of heart?
We must learn the A, B, and C's

A - Annointing
B - Becoming like Christ
C - Commisioning

We are all called to serve the Lord and be His Disciple. I know for sometime we are so hard headed thinking that we are not capable of doing what God wants us to do. Parang ako lang! haha. So every time I feel that way, I utter this phrase "God doesn't called the qualified, He qualifies the called". If He calls us He will equipped us. Calling is a blessing. Be blessed and be a blessing to others!

HOUSEHOLD: GOD'S TIMING

I know and I put in my mind that there's always God's Perfect Time, but my deeds does not coincide with my thoughts. I am being impatient for all the things that I'm praying. Last night I joined ate Apol's Household and God remind me again that His plan is better than mine, His ways is perfect, and He has something instore for me. All I have to do is patiently wait...

Household Topic: God's Timing by Abby

God is not interested in our instant gratification, but in our fulfilling His plans and purposes over a lifetime.

SUNSHINE

In our company we do have two shifts schedule, actually this is only applicable to our department - Technical Group :). Our two shifts are 8:30am to 5:30pm (regular office hours) and 12:00pm to 9:00 pm (second shift). So I got an schedule of: 1st to 15th day of the month I'll be on second shift and 16th to 30th I'll be on a regular shift. I'm not a morning person but my fave schedule was the regular shift. You know why?

because of....

1. I can leave the office as early as 5:30pm and be home at 7:00 pm to watch Princess and I :))

2. Meet friends

3. Attend SFC activities.

4. Sunshine

This a view from my office area
(The sun and the building glass wall serves as my fireplace), sobrang lamig kasi sa office!!! :(

The Sun is one of my simple joy! Whenever I see the sun, it reminds me that there's always hope, and a new start.

fave lyrics from "Sunshine- Gabrielle"

"Sunshine"

Made a wish, I can dream
I can be what I want to be
Not afraid to live my life
And fulfil my fantasies

I learnt a lot of tricks to help me live my life
You helped me find my paradise
When you came you were like

Sunshine through my window
That's what you are
My shining star
Sunshine
Making me feel
I'm on top of the world
Telling me I'll go far

Reaching out, for the highs
You inspired me to try
I felt the magic inside
And I felt that I could fly
I'm looking at the world in an optimistic light
You made me appreciate my life
'Cos when you came you were like

Sunshine through my window
That's what you are
My shining star
Sunshine
Making me feel
I'm on top of the world
Telling me I'll go far

You are the calm
I am the storm
You are the breeze that carries me on
When I set adrift
You wink at me
You're there for me

Sunshine (oh yeah)
That's what you are
My shining star
Sunshine
Making me feel I'm on top of the world
Telling me that I'll go far
Sunshine through my window
That's what you are
My shining star

(Sunshine) Making me feel I'm on top of the world
Telling me that I'll go far
Sunshine through my window
That's what you are
My shining star
Sunshine
Making me feel I'm on top of the world
Telling me that I'll go far
Sunshine
My star, my star..

Sunshine through my window That's what you are!!! Sunshine My star, my star! May we all remind us that sunshine is a gift from God and Jesus is our star! :)

Have a blessed day ahead! :)
